We start in Fürstenwalde / Spree in the east of Berlin and follow the Spree on its way through the meadows and forests. Over the Müggelsee we reach the city center of Berlin, where we leave the main canal at the Oberbaumbrücke and turn into the Landwehrkanal, which follows the former inner-German border between East and West Berlin. In the direction of Potsdam we cross the Wannsee and pass some historical and famous buildings. We paddle under the Glienicke Bridge, where the divided Germany exchanged its agents. After we have crossed downtown Potsdam, we paddle again along the former German border. Surrounded by a lot of water and in beautiful nature, it goes around the city. There is a lot of German history to discover on the 163-kilometer route. Every night we will spend the night at a campsite, where dinner will be cooked for you and the experiences of the day can be exchanged around the campfire.
The SUP11 Sights adventure starts in the east of Berlin and on the calm Spree we paddle with the current towards the city. In the city center of Berlin there is the possibility that boats pass by, so you have to be prepared for a few waves. On the way south towards Potsdam we will cross some larger lakes where it can be windy. On the Havel we paddle around Potsdam with a light current. Depending on the weather, it can be calm, but you should also have experience in choppy conditions, as the route also follows straightened canals. Since we paddle an average of 32.6 kilometers per day on the 5 days, you should also have the appropriate stamina for it.
Everyone will arrive in Fürstenwalde / Spree (Berlin) on May 4th. The airport is in Berlin, a 40-minute drive to the first camp. We can organize a pick-up if necessary. If you arrive by mobile home or car, the first camp will be on the camping site of the Canoe Club Fürstenwalde / Spree.
After the first day of paddling, we will spend the night at the campsite in Erkner / Brandenburg. We will stay here on the second day so that the transfer from the finish and to the start is organized. On the third day we will be guests at the WPH at Heiligensee and spend the night there. For the last two days we will camp on the Hermannswerder peninsula in Potsdam.
